Great personal electrical guitar amp.

Great personal electrical guitar amp.
First off, I knew that it was on the small side and I know how small audio amplifier circuits can be made because of my degrees, but I still was not expecting this amp to be this tiny. If it was not for the battery pack adding on some size, I bet this amp could fit in my guitar case. But I love how small this is, and yet how loud it can get if needed. The only reason for 4 stars is I heard a hum on some of the strings as well as some of them are fuzzy, so I am not sure if this is the amp or guitar yet. I did not hear this with no amp attached obviously. I found out that electric guitars need to be setup and I don't think this guitar has been setup yet before being used as I was not told about it. So once that is done, if the sound improves I will increase my rating, if not, well you know what happens then, but I will do my best to find the cause of the hum and fuzz that have been found now.

If you buy this hoping it will sound like the Marshall half-stack you can’t afford, you are a dope! This one actually sounds damn good!!!

I have owned every desktop amp since that terrible mini Marshall came out in the 90’s, and this one is the most impressive I have ever used.

I don’t know about things like battery life yet, and will update this review as I use it more, but it was cool enough to prompt me to write this review 2 hours after I started using it.

It's a solid little modeling amp. The models chosen are essentially a who's-who of iconic amp formats, so the characteristics are nice. The sound quality's decent for most basic uses, so for a simple practice amp you can put in your apartment without having to fight the neighbors? Brilliant.

Only downsides I can give you:
- No cable output. If you want to push it to recording, you're going to have to mic it. There's no direct entry for your audio interface.
- The models don't seem to handle breakup. So pushing gain or volume particularly hard in any given model isn't that impactful. Some of the really useful character in the source amps is based on what happens when you push them and the model doesn't really reflect that. Overall, though, they're good sounding and if you want more character or effect, the onboard effects are reasonable, and you can gladly add any external pedals you want.

I’m new to electric guitar so I can admit that there is still a lot to learn.

That being said for someone like me in a limited space that needs to be able to practice this works perfectly. It’s smaller than expected but it doesn’t take away from the power you can get out of this thing. I was impressed at the range it had and how the low end hasn’t been totally sacrificed. Don’t get me wrong it will not hold up to a full sized amp but for practicing, especially on the go, you will not go wrong with this.

The only thing I do not like about this amp is how it takes a few seconds to “work out the bugs” on the initial power up every single time. Expect extra distortion for the first 60 seconds. Make no mistake this thing delivers and considering how portable it is along with the power it can produce on a battery the extra distortion in the beginning is not worth taking any stars away from what this can do.

I bought one in June, it arrived non-functional. I returned it for a replacement, which worked for about a week. Then the amp selector started malfunctioning, only working on 3 amp models. Amazon does not give an option for a second replacement, only a refund. I emailed Donner twice and have received no response. Return deadline is in 4 days. I really liked it when it worked.

When it worked:
The amp sims are fair, the 5150, mesa boogie and fender amps sound pretty good. The effects sound pretty good. It would be cool if it had presets. The drums sound alright but the controls are awkward. Overall it's worth the money. I can still return it and just order a 3rd one but I would like Donner to know they have a good product that is worth buying if they can work out quality control issues. Please respond!

I was honestly shocked at how great this amp sounded and how much “punch” it packs. I’m a boring dad these days, so having a large Marshall stack isn’t in the cards. I plugged in my SG for the first time in almost ten years when I got this amp and had forgotten how much I love playing an electric. It’s lightweight and compact. Fits on the corner of my home office desk. NOTE: it uses a USB cable to charge and you will need a charger block (white cube plug that iPhone’s use. Not the C charger).

I feel this is a great little amplifier for any musician looking for quality sound at a reasonable price! For practicing I enjoy having the effects and also the drum machine. The bluetooth capability has been useful for practising with backing tracks and also for listening to my audio books! Having the power supply included was also a nice feature.........so I didn't have to spend time and money tracking one down! Not designed to blow your walls down, I find it ideal for a small apartment or townhouse! I am quite satisfied with this purchase, as I want to remain friends with my neighbors!

C’è poco da dire, l’amplificatore fa il suo dovere e ha una buona durata della batteria, ha una buona potenza audio e una qualità davvero niente male. Consigliatissimo se si hanno poche pretese (insomma non lo userete sicuramente per suonare ad una festa con confusione e parecchi rumori) ma se si vuole suonare uno strumento elettrico in viaggio, a casa o magari davanti un falò o in tenda è il top, l’amplificatore è poco più grande di una mano. Insomma questo è il mio secondo prodotto Donner e da ora sono sicuro che qualsiasi cosa abbia questo marchio ti permette di risparmiare e avere un prodotto di qualità.
