Will this restore foggy/faded/yellowed headlights or clear plastics?

No, this product was not made to restore foggy or faded clear plastics such as headlights.

To properly restore your faded headlights back to their original condition, it takes a bit of effort. The top layer becomes yellow/hazy from damaging UV rays. You need to sand down the top damaged layer and refinish them with a new clear-coat. After you're done fixing them, you can use CAR GUYS Plastic Restorer to keep them protected as our product contains durable UV protection.

Is this a dye and is it only for black material?

No, this is not a dye! It will restore the material back to whatever its original color was. Works excellent to bring faded black or grey materials. and if you have any color faded materials it will bring it back to its original shine and finish.

Is this only for interior and exterior automotive surfaces?

No! This can be used for a variety of applications such as a cars bumper, a jeep or chevy avalanche truck that has tons of plastic, plus your RV or motorcycle! Also has marine applications for things such as the vinyl seats on your boat! Works GREAT for any indoor or outdoor accessories or home restoration projects such as shutters, furniture and siding. CAR GUYS Plastic Restorer looks like it's just an automotive product, but this special formula will bring ANYTHING made from plastic, vinyl or rubber back to life!

Does this contain UV protection?

Yes! This acts like a sealant by leaving a durable UV protectant guard to shield away harmful UV rays that cause fading, browning and cracking.

What kind of prep work or after care is involved, is it easy to use?

This product is extremely easy to use! Simply clean the surface using CAR GUYS Super Cleaner spray or any other type of cleaner that effectively wipes and cleans off any old dressings, oil and dirt. Apply a small amount onto our included applicator pad and wipe onto the surface. After 10-15 minutes buff down any excess product and you’re done! In the future, simply clean treated surfaces with regular soap and water.

10yr old Outback's body molding had turned from black to gray. Wiped CAR GUYS Plastic Restorer on and instantly the gray was gone and the black was back! I was blown away.! This is my final choice for these types of products without a doubt. When used correctly it has lasted without reapplication for around 7 months now and is still not needing to be reapplied yet. I actually used it on some satin finish mirrors to bring the black tint back and did just that without trying to over shine the finish. A little advice is to let it cure in the hot sun for several hours before letting it set up overnight and do a second coat the next day, with the same cure procedure and then polish off next day.
