    Winner winner, chicken dinner! Yeah I’ve been watching Dave on EEVBlog videos....This is one of the best $35 multimeter that you will find on Amazon. Compared to other meters in this price range, it’s a no brainer.It comes with nice test lead probes, with alligator clips, along with a thermocoupler lead. The obligatory signal trace test with the comfortable leads was excellent. No delayed pause in hearing a beep with the leads are touched together. I haven’t tried with my nice BK Precision test leads, but I’m sure the meter will react even faster. I’ve tried a few other tests like NCV and temp, and they are all good.The backlight is a soft blue that completely lights up the HUGE display. No squinting needed for this meter!The dial turns good with little deflection.The rear stand is big also, and is very stable as it sets the meter up at a nice viewing angle.If you’re looking for a case for this meter, the rounding up measurements are 4”x 8”x 2.5”.Here is the main reason why I purchased this multimeter, it does DC mV, with no fumbling the dials and switches to get to it. I needed a meter to look at the negative DC mV for biasing power tubes in guitar amps.The second reason is safety. It has two ceramic fuses, 0.6mA 1000V and 10A 1000V.So, here’s the negatives about this meter. I mean you’re not going to get a Fluke 87V for this price. The accuracy ain’t the greatest. It’s a 0.8% meter. Yeah that’s why it’s $35 with so many measuring and safety features. Thankfully guitar tube amps are low tech, so I don’t have to worry about extreme accuracy.     I have a $500 Fluke 87V and I never use it anymore because this meter is so amazing! I am an industrial mechanic so I troubleshoot lots of electrical problems, 24V sensors, PLC I/O, heaters, pumps, 480V motors, 120V residential wiring, etc. This thing is accurate enough and is great for troubleshooting, plus it's so cheap. The only things I don't like: it doesn't have a backlight and sometimes I have to bang the batteries to get it to turn on. I even once accidentally tried to ohm a live circuit (dumb electrician ran power from another room past all the breakers into the room I was working in), and it still worked with no need to replace a fuse. I definitely recommend this unless you're doing something extremely accurate.

    I'm a design engineer who uses high end test and measurement equipment and designs it.

    In terms of ergonomics and functionality this is a really nice multimeter. It's a bit smaller than I expected but chunky at the same time and will definitely take some abuse.

    The dial has a satisfying click and is easy enough to push with one finger. There are stops for all the key functionality including AC and DC voltage without having to use a select button (select is only used for AC versus DC current), a big plus.

    The leads are decent quality with molded in holders to store them. Packaging and instructions are also better than most cheap meters.

    BK Precision is my choice for ~$100, fluke above that. But on the low end this is a very nice all-around option.

    Update: Just had the chance to use it to troubleshoot an outboard motor and it was great (bad solenoid). The stand worked fine on the sloped boat surfaces and it has enough bulk that it doesn't fall over as you move the leads around as the pocket type meters will do.

    For the price appears pretty rugged with a rubberized protective housing. I imagine that for several dollars more you could find something more rugged if your needs for such were high, but for only a few dollars less (and maybe some costing more) there are units that for sure would not take as much physical stress or abuse.
    The accompanying user's manual is written in a concise and easily understood manner. It's so much easier to read the digital readout than the analog meter that I bought years ago; you don't have to decipher which of the needle markings are giving you the measured value; that's a big deal for the occasional user like me. And my old unit is one such I would estimate to be fairly fragile, as noted earlier.
    Do read the manual though, unless you are truly sure of what you are doing. There are plenty of things that you can do incorrectly that will create problems.
    This Etkcity is more than adequate for non-professional and light-duty use; I'm sure it would be fine for some professional applications, but not being such I am unable to truly speak to that.
    It was a great price and I received it well ahead of the projected delivery date.

    PROS: Outstanding large back light display - Continuity buzzer is loud enough to hear in background noise with quick response - Exellent accuracy for most uses - Batteries very easy to find and replace - Very detailed user user friendly manual available on Etekcity's Amazon web site so you can see the multimeters full specifications before you make a purchase - all at an inconcevable low price.
    CONS: The fuses are very difficult or impossible to find and they are very high priced if you do find them. We located the ceramic .200A 600v 5x20mm fuse at a price of $9.60 each. The ceramic 10A 600v 5x20mm fuse is not available any where that we can find. We contacted Etekcity and they do not sell either of the fuses. If you make a bad hookup and blow these fuses multimeter functions will be lost. Unfortunatly some of the reviewers of the Etekcity multimeter fuse specifications can not tell the difference between USA Inch measurements and metric millimeter measurements which has resulted in some very misleading and dangerous information.

    I just love how easy it is to use, I only use 3-4 settings which is dc volts, ohms, Ac volts and amps, I really like how easy this meter is which it automatically does settings so your don’t have to individually select you tenth of volt or 100/volt etc it just automatically places the dot!     I was in the market to replace an old, non-digital multimeter and found this Etekcity UT201 offered up for a very reasonable price! The addition of an ammeter loop was a feature I was looking for in the new instrument. This instrument is very well design allowing either hand to make adjustments to the Scale ring due to the knurling on the edge. The device itself is very easy to use with a large 3-digit LCD display and the notations are clear, colourful and intuitive. I think I am going to be very happy with this device as I expect it will be with me for a long time. Comes with carrying case and battery (installed). Very nice quality leads are supplied!

    I also purchased the Etekcity Test Lead Kit model TL-809 which is an excellent compliment to this meter.

    My only wish would have been for an ammeter which also measures DC amperage but for that I expect I would have been paying a much higher price.
