Hydro-stabilizer 9401-7 gives outboards and sterndrives a performance boost, improving both stability and handling. The hydro-stabilizer out-performs ordinary flat hydrofoils by reducing drag when the hull goes on Plane. Wings constructed of engineered Resin. The hydro-stabilizer quickly puts the boat on Plane and helps pull skiers out of the hole faster. Even at lower RPMs, it keeps the boat on Plane. I have a new Tohatsu 6hp (MFS6DWDS) on my Sea Eagle 437ps, 14' inflatable. I was not able to get on plane with 1 person. It would go on plane with 2 people, because of the additional weight closer to the front.Yesterday, I installed the Attwood 94017 Hydrofoil, then took it out for 4 hours of fishing and testing.The boat was on plane pretty quickly and at less than 1/2 throttle with only me on the boat. Now the boat planes with 1 or 2 people, no problem.I am very pleased!

Love this thing! Easily installed on 5hp Honda (I did dremel it a bit for better fit) and amazing difference. With just a 10' Jon boat it is very stern heavy and I used to have to move myself far forward to even make plane. Then I'd have cavitation issues on plane. Now I make plane in 1/4 the time and no cavitation! Even noticed that it's significantly more stable and easier to drive.

The product advertises less drag than other hydrofoils. I've found that true and the packaging explains how it uses "gull wings" which angle up slightly and mostly stick above the water when on plane, thereby reducing drag at higher speeds. I verified that today and about 2/3 of wings were above water.

Also, this "jr" is one of the few foils specifically made for smaller outboards. It's not a one size fits all like many.

As advertised if not better.

They were not easy to install on a 9.9 hp motor, mainly because the propeller and engine gets in the way. I am not sure if the manufacturer can do anything about this.

They do help get my boat to plane, but they are not a miracle cure. Before I got them I had to go all the way forward in my dinghy to get the boat to plane, now I just have to lean a bit forward. So they are not a miracle cure, my motor is on a 10 foot inflatable with giant 18 inch tubes and getting that boat to plane is a difficult task.

Installed these on my 15hp tohatsu on my 11’ inflatable dinghy.

They made a huge difference. I can get up on plane much easier and at lower speed. Without these the bow would rise dangerously high if I accelerated too fast.

Also they’ve improved low speed maneuverability of my dinghy. Not to a huge extent but noticeably.

I have a 2021 Suzuki 6HP short shaft and I am have 10ft jon boat.
My motor has an anode next to the shaft where the hydrofoil would sit on. So I had to cut a portion of the fin. I was able to attach the fins on to the motor.
1. It does work to get on plane just a tad quicker.
2. I tested the speed, it decreased my boat speed by 2-3mph !
3. When on plane, the whole boat seems to be 'sliding' left and right a bit. May be because of jon boat ?

Well, I decided to take it off, and since I already made a cut on one of the fin, I can't return it.

May be this will work much better with larger motor and also NOT jon boat ??
